The AAC (American Addiction Centers) has been around since 2007, and they have seen the various types of addiction that have come and gone. However, they have never seen anything quite like the opioid addiction. They have seen enough of it, and they want to put an end to it. If there is any treatment center out there that can put a stop to it, it is the AAC.
They have the right professionals to get the job done. When students went back to college in August, they were right there with the information that was needed for parents to talk to their kids about alcohol use on college campuses.
When it was the Fourth of July weekend, they were there to remind people to be safe and use a ride-sharing app to get home. They shared information on the amount of people that were driving drink on that holiday. When it was time to celebrate the military, they wanted to make sure that people were aware of the struggles they were facing in terms of PTSD.
When they come back from the war, many of them turn to substances to deal with the harsh realities of what they have seen and experienced. Whenever someone has needed help, information, or a friendly reminder, the AAC has been there to provide it, each and every single time.
It is what they are doing right now with the opioid crisis and how it is taking children away from their parents.
This is happening because they were simply trying to take care of chronic pain. They thought the doctor was telling them the right thing to do, and they were in good hands. For many of those struggling with addiction, they are upset over it and want something to be done about it. In the meantime, they are trying to piece their lives back together, one step at a time. It is not easy for them. For a lot of them, they have never had an addiction in their entire lives. This is all new to them. When you add in the fact they are not able to take care of their children because of this crippling substance, it makes it even worse. They are mad, and they want answers.
For right now, the AAC is doing their part to get the facts and information out there to the public about what is happening with children ending up in foster care and how it relates to parents having an opioid addiction.
They will always do their part with spreading the truth to the masses. They will always have their doors open for anyone that wants to get the help they need for their addiction.
