Stream Energy is showing how much it truly cares. The Dallas-based energy supplier has witnessed one of the biggest disasters right on its doorstep. Hurricane Harvey caused widespread destruction in Texas, and in response, Stream Energy set up its own charitable wing of the company. Stream Cares has been created to deal with the company’s philanthropic work.
While Stream Cares had been giving generously for over a decade, it marks the formal beginning of the charitable side of the organization. Stream Energy has worked in the past with global charity organizations. It has helped with projects with the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and Habitat for Humanity. Its latest partnership is with a more local charity. Hope Supply Co focuses its efforts on homeless children. Homelessness is a huge problem in Dallas, and the effect it has on children is sometimes overlooked. Hope Supply Co supplies schoolbooks, clothes, food and even diapers.
Stream Cares recently organized a day out for some of those children. Stream Cares employees took the group to a water park. It was the first time many of the kids had experienced something like it. It was also a chance for the employees to show how much they care. It is sometimes easy for companies to just write a check for charities, but Stream Energy employees wanted to help out with their time.
It was not the only event Stream Energy has organized for children and their families. A lunch was hosted for veterans and their families, and a recent event gave ten daughters of veterans the chance to take part in the American Girl Doll Experience. Stream Energy paid fully for both events. The company will continue to look for ways to give back to the communities that it serves. It is all part of its larger commitment to make charity work one of the main things that it is known for.
