George Soros Remains Influential in All Aspects

The influence of George Soros both politically and financially cannot be gainsaid. He has been very influential since the 1980s and has used his enormous powers to assist in bringing changes to a number of nations all over the world. Soros can be regarded by many as one of the most outstanding investors globally. He is believed to have a net worth of over $25 billion and this places him as one of the richest men in the world. To a greater extent, even today, Soros is very influential in American politics and culture than any other person alive. For over 30 years, he has remains steadfast in his support for democratic values and causes.

Soros as a Philanthropist

Since the late 70’s and early 80’s, Soros has been involved in philanthropic work and through his foundations, has dispersed huge amounts of money to various groups and causes. From $3 million in 1987, Soros had spent over $300 million by 1992 through various foundations in many countries and specifically in Nations in Eastern Europe and central Asia. His Open Society Foundation has a presence in more than 70 nations globally. Soros was born and grew up in Budapest and moved to England in 1947. He is a graduate of the London School of Economics and also studied a Masters degree in philosophy. To date, Soros is Chairs his Soros fund management and has achieved great success investments and financial ventures.

From Humble Beginnings to Riches

Soros had a very humble beginning and after fleeing from Hungary, he worked in London as a waiter and railway porter. He got a break when he got employment at a merchant bank where he began his financial career. He relocated to New York and ventured into Wall Street and founded his own hedge fund. Soros is a progressive and a liberal and he has devoted his time to supporting causes that are politically liberal and progressive in nature.
